Lion in 13 Lines

The Lady of the long grass
with her hair in a snarl
cries and says:
I am as disconnected
as a summer’s day
when the heat rises up
and keeps the land from wholeness.
It is all quite easy
caught within the days and ways,
caught in the pathos of our times.
It is all quite adequate.
Witness the Lady:
I am most lion before the roar begins.

  1. This is beautiful. I don't completely understand it, but it is beautiful. The heat keeping the land, all being quite adequate and the last line, powerful.
